2019 TBR! // Let’s do this!

Hey! How are you doing? I hope you’re good. Today I wanted to share my TBR for the upcoming year with you. It’s a bit late, as I really took my time to decide what to put on it. I’m confident I chose the right books!

MY TBR:

2019 tbr

I chose 6 books and 4 authors that I’d like to read. Here’s my shelf on Goodreads, where you can check out the synopses. I’ll quickly go over why I want to read these!

First of all, I want to read a book from Virginia Woolf. She’s a classic writer whom I’m really intrigued by. My friend has been raving about her as well. At the moment, I’m leaning most towards reading Orlando, but you could change my mind with your recommendation.

I’d also like to read Circe by Madeline Miller. I enjoyed her other book, The song of Achilles and thought the retelling aspect was done very well. Circe has been recommend to me many times, so I’m excited to pick it up.

Another classic on the list is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. A good friend of mine really enjoyed it and the blurb sounds interesting.

Then there’s Not Your Backup by C.B. Lee, the only sequel on the list. It’s the third book in the sidekick squad series and will be published in June. The first book in the series made my favourites list in 2018, so I’m most excited to carry on in the series!

Furthermore, I want to get to a book by Isabel Allende. I loved The Japanese Lover by her and I’d like to venture farther into her novels. I’m not sure where to start though. Do you have a recommendation?

I’d like to read another novel by Khaled Hosseini as well. I enjoyed A Thousand Splendid Suns. I hope I’ll like his other books too.

What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera is also on the list. Mainly because I’ve been procrastinating for a while. I just don’t want t to let me down. However, I started it just recently!

If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio sounds so intriguing! I’m rather curious to see what I’ll think of it.

The next book, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, is on my TBR for a different reason. We’re reading it in my book club, but I’m not really enjoying it. I’m putting it on this list as motivation to push through.

Last but not least, I’d like to read another novel by Ashley Herring Blake. I adored Girl Made of Stars, and I’m hoping I’ll love her other books as much.

What do you think? Have you read any of these? What’s on your TBR? Do you have any recommendations on where to start with the four authors?

I hope you enjoyed this post. Wish me luck! See you next time!

Love,
