The Amsterdam book tag

Today I am bringing you the Amsterdam book tag, a fun tag for which I was tagged by Tiana over at Thebookraven to do. A big thanks to her! She has an awesome blog and you should definitely go check her out! I’m really late with this tag, but better late than never I suppose?

Before I get started I wanted to quickly mention I have now joined Bloglovin’ ! You can find me here. I’ve heard great things about this site, so I’m sure I will enjoy using it!

Now onto the tag!

I have visited Amsterdam before and I liked it. It might be a bit different from what you see in the photographs, but it’s still a really cool city. Next month I will be visiting again and I can’t wait!

WHY DO WE HAVE SO MANY CHEESE STORES IN ONE STREET? — A CHEESY READ.

My first thought was the same as Tiana’s answer, The Selection by Kiera Cass. This is a book full of cheese, but I didn’t mind really, I loved it! It was very romantic and swoon-worthy in my opinion.

CANAL PARADE — A BOOK THAT CELEBRATES THE LGBTQ+-COMMUNITY.

I instantly thought of Simon VS The homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, a book I’ve read recently and loved! It has become one of my favourite contemporaries.

ANNE FRANK HOUSE — A BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY.

I’m not going with my usual answers, The Book Thief or The fault in our stars, instead I’m going for a lesser known book, Numbers by Rachel Ward. This book was slow and it took me a while to get invested in the characters, but then something happened near the end of the book and that made me cry.

MUSEUM SQUARE — AN ARTSY BOOK.

The first book that jumps to mind is I’ll give you the sun by Jandy Nelson. Both of the main characters are artists and art is a big focus of the book.

PIGEONS, PIGEONS EVERYWHERE — AN ANNOYING CHARACTER.

Ashley from We are all made of molecules by Susin Nielsen. Ugh ASHLEY. She was so mean and annoying and stupid and she always wanted to be in the center of attention. I did not enjoy the chapters from her POV at all. I loved the other main character in this book though.

RED WHITE BLUE — RECREATE THE DUTCH FLAG USING BOOKS.

I’m going back to my first answers for this one. The selection series by Kiera Cass. The first three books are blue, red and white.
