Down The TBR Hole #12

It’s time for another descend into the TBR hole! We’re nearing the end of my TBR. I can only do two more of these posts before reaching zero. As always, I’m excited to write this post!

The meme was originally created by Lia @ Lost in a Story. This is how it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

My TBR now sits at 71 books. You can find my previous posts in this series here.

DTTH 12

Little and Lion by Brandy Colbert

I think I put this book on my TBR, because I heard someone rave about it. The synopsis doesn’t intrigue me anymore, though.

VERDICT: GO

The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan

Oooh, this one is difficult. I normally love Rick Riordan’s books, but I’ve found I don’t enjoy the Trials of Apollo that much. I strongly dislike the main character Apollo. I don’t think I’ll add the book to my collection, but I probably will read it when it comes to the library.

VERDICT: KEEP

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

I most definitely want to read this. I’ve heard such great things! I enjoyed A Thousand Splendid Suns by Hosseini and I’m hoping I’ll feel the same way about The Kite Runner!

VERDICT: KEEP

An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon

Although I want to read about a black intersex main character, I don’t think I’ll ever realistically get to this. It’s a shame.

VERDICT: GO

On The Come Up by Angie Thomas

Um, of course I’m reading this! It’s Angie Thomas!

VERDICT: KEEP

Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel

I’ve heard this is an adult version of the Illuminae Files. I’m up for that!

VERDICT: KEEP

Annie on My Mind by Nancy Garden

I’m definitely still interested in this! The fact that it’s banned in many places and was even burned in Kansas City makes me want to read it even more.

VERDICT: KEEP

Here Comes The Sun by Nicole Dennis-Benn

This sounds like an amazing novel that’ll be layered. I’m hoping it’ll be heart-breaking.

VERDICT: KEEP

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

I really want to have read this. I know it won’t be my next favourite book, but it’ll be a quick and fun read!

VERDICT: KEEP

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez

This is one of my best friend’s favourite books. I’ve promised her I’ll read it. I don’t know when it’ll realistically happen, but I’m not getting rid of it.

VERDICT: KEEP

BOOKS KEPT: 8
BOOKS GONE: 2
CURRENT TBR TOTAL: 69

I didn’t get rid of many books this time. I suppose that is because we’re almost at the end of my TBR. I added these books relatively recently.

What do you think? Would you have chosen differently? What book should I prioritise?

That’s all for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading. See you next time!

Love,
