Travel Book Haul // Northern-Spain and London!

Hey everyone! How are you? Today I want to share the books I picked up this month with you. I traveled to both Northern-Spain and London. It was amazing! In London I visited a bunch of bookstores, so this haul is quite big for a month. I have a post coming up showing you all of those bookstores and more, so look out for that! Anyway, let’s get into this haul!

The N° 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith

In Spain I picked up a single book, bought in a bookstore called Cervantes in Oviedo. I like to pick up books as souvenirs. I had never heard of this novel before, but it’s sounds very interesting. A cozy crime novel with strong black woman in the lead I’d pick up any day. I hope this is as good as it sounds!

All the other books I got in London. I’ll split them into categories based on where I got them!

Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson

In Foyles I picked up Undead Girl Gang, a novel that has been sitting at the top of my want-to-read list. I started reading this the same day as I bought it. I’m currently in the middle and enjoying it! So far, I’d recommend it. I’m reading it for this year’s Booktube-a-thon. By the way, if you want to follow my progress on that, you can find it here.

Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown

In Gay’s The Word I picked up two books. Firstly, Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit. This is a sweet sapphic romance set in the south. I hope I’ll enjoy it a lot! The book’s been recommended to me several times. It kept popping up, so I decided to give it a go!

Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake

I’ve heard a bunch of people raving about this novel, saying it’s hard-hitting, gripping and thought-provoking. It’s about a girl whose twin brother rapes her best friend and her navigating that whilst dealing with an ex-girlfriend. That sounds great, so when I saw this in the store, I decided to pick it up! I’m excited to get into this and see what the story brings!

Dear Martin by Nic Stone

People have been raving about this book! I’ve been wanting to read it for a while now. So when I saw it at Blackwell’s I decided to pick it up. It’s been recommended to me, based on liking The Hate U Give. Since the novel is so short, I’m hoping to read it this week during the Booktube-a-thon. But if I can’t fit it in, I’ll get to it soon anyway.

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

I read this book this June and to my surprise I loved it! It became one of my favourite books of the year. This book made me really happy to read. I’m talking Simon vs. levels of happy. I read this book with a big smile on my face. I read a library copy and wanted a copy for my own shelf. I thus picked one up in Waterstones. I want to re-read the novel and hope to do so relatively soon.

The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge

I had never heard of this book before. When I read the synopsis though, I was really intrigued. It’s about a girl looking for a tree that unveils a truth when told a lie. That sounds like a great concept! The reviews on Goodreads seem mostly positive, so I’m even more excited to pick this up!

Between this and my last book haul I also picked up Style by Chelsea M. Cameron. I enjoyed it and would recommend it if your looking for a good lesbian love story.

Have you read any of these? Which one would you recommend most? Do you have any recommendations for me based on this haul?

That’s all for this book haul. I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading. If you enjoyed it, would you consider following me? See you next time!
