Down The TBR Hole #7

Hey everyone! It’s time for another Down The TBR Hole post! I’m excited and I hope you are too! I have found this the most fun way to clean up my Goodreads TBR! Let’s do this!

The meme was originally created by Lia @ Lost in a Story. This is how it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

My TBR now sits at 113 books. You can find my previous posts in this series here.

Paintbrush by Hannah Bucchin

The synopsis of this sounds just okay to me, but nothing more. I definitely don’t care enough to buy it.

VERDICT: GO

The Librarian of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe

I’m hoping this will be a powerful and emotional book. Since my library has it, I’m definitely willing to give it a change!

VERDICT: KEEP

Radio Silence by Alice Oseman

So many people whose reviews and opinions I trust have raved about this book! Plus, I’ve never read about an ace character.

VERDICT: KEEP

Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson, Brooke Allen and Grace Ellis

Even though the synopsis sounds interesting, it’s hard to justify buying these graphic novels. They aren’t exactly cheap and from what I’ve seen the issues are quite short. I’m never actually going to read these.

VERDICT: GO

Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley

The blurb makes this book sound amazing. However, I know I don’t care enough to buy it. Since my library doesn’t have it either, this doesn’t have to stay on the list.

VERDICT: GO

Dreadnought by April Daniels

I’m very much in doubt about this one. I would like to read about a trans and lesbian character, but superhero stories aren’t really my thing. My library doesn’t have this novel in their collection, so I’d have to buy it. Help me decide on this one!

VERDICT: IN DOUBT. SHOULD I READ THIS?

Otherbound by Corinne Duyvis

I’m interested in the synopsis, but I’m going to get rid of this for now. My library has Duyvis’ other book On The Edge of Gone. I’m going to read that and if I like it, I’ll buy and read this book.

VERDICT: GO (for now)

The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie

If I’m honest the only thing that I find interesting about this book is its lesbian main character. Everything else doesn’t interest me.

VERDICT: GO

The Miseducation of Cameron Post

This book really intrigues me, so it’s staying. I could see myself buying this.

VERDICT: KEEP

More Than This by Patrick Ness

Lastly, this book is staying as well. It’s on my 2018 TBR, so I really need to get to it!

VERDICT: KEEP

4 BOOKS KEPT
5 BOOKS GONE
1 BOOK PENDING

Current TBR total: 106

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you did, would you consider following me? Thanks for reading! See you next time!

Love,
