Book Birthday Tag // I turn 16 today!

Hey everyone! Guess whose birthday it is today! To celebrate it here on my blog I’m doing the Book Birthday tag created by Antonia’s Always Books.  Last year I also did a tag on my birthday and I highly enjoyed it! So I’m doing it again. Let’s get started!

BIRTHDAY CAKE: A BOOK WITH A PLOT THAT SEEMS CLICHE, BUT YOU ADORE IT ANYWAY

The book that comes to mind first is Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I adore it! I’m sure you’ve heard of this book before. The plot is a ‘you’ve got mail’ kind of situation, but with the most adorable gay main character. 31180248The romance is amazing! I re-read it just recently (for the fifth time) and I still adore it!

PARTY GUESTS: YOUR MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK RELEASE FOR THIS YEAR

Leah On The Offbeat by Becky Albertalli! This is a sequel to Simon VS. following a different character, Leah. It has a f/f romance and the main character is fat and bisexual. The book came out at the end of April and I’ve already read it! (Spoilers for this month’s wrap-up!) I loved it and gave it five out of five stars. It’s not as good as Simon Vs., but it’s still Ah-May-Zing!

BIRTHDAY PRESENTS: A BOOK THAT SURPRISED YOU WITH HOW MUCH YOU LOVED IT

I picked up Kids of Appetite by David Arnold on a whim, because the blurb sounded interesting and I needed a book to take with me to Croatia. 22466429Boy, was I surprised about how much I loved it! It turned out to be a new favourite. I would most highly recommend this! It’s very underrated.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY” SONG: A BOOK THAT CERTAINLY DESERVED ALL THE HYPE IT GOT

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer! I love this series. (BTW, I’m really enjoying the fact that this tag let’s me talk about some of my favourites!) Anyway, the main thing I love about this series are the characters. I grew fond of them. I love their dynamics and the romance between Cinder and Kai and Wolf and Scarlet is fantastic!

20820994HAPPY MUSIC: A BOOK WITH SOME VERY BEAUTIFUL AND TRULY MEMORABLE QUOTES

I absolutely love the writing style of I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson. I often found myself re-reading sentences or paragraphs because they were so beautiful! I still remember some quotes from this novel and that never happens!

GETTIN OLDER: A BOOK THAT YOU READ A LONG TIME AGO? BUT YOU THINK YOU WOULD APPRECIATE MORE IF YOU READ IT AS A MORE MATURE READER

I actually don’t have an answer for this prompt. I usually read in my age category. There are quite a few books I think I would appreciate less right now, but not the other way around.

SWEET BIRTHDAY MEMORIES: A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU INCREDIBLY HAPPY DURING A SAD OR DEMANDING PERIOD OF YOUR LIFE

I read The Selection series by Kiera Cass when I got surgery two years ago. I had to stay in bed for a week and I read through the first four novels. The Crown I read two months later, when it came out. I adored this series at the time, but have fallen out of love since.

I hope you enjoyed this tag!  Thanks for reading! See you next time!

Love,
