Down The TBR Hole #3

Hello! How are you? I hope you’re good. Today I’m writing my third Down the TBR hole post. I’ve been enjoying these! The meme was created by Lia @ Lost in a Story! This is how it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

My TBR now counts 131 books. Let’s get started!

Highly Illogical Behaviour by John Corey Whaley

The synopsis of this book does still really interest me and I’ve heard great reviews. However, I still haven’t gotten to this book even though it was on my yearly TBR last year. My only way to access this book is to buy it and I still haven’t. I’m not sure if I ever will, but at the same time I don’t want to get rid of this book on my TBR.

VERDICT: KEEP (for now)

Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde

I’m not sure about this one. The synopsis sounds interesting and like a great summer read. I’ve heard good reviews and I love the cover. This is another case of having to buy the book though and I don’t know if I ever will. This sounds like a book I will enjoy, but not LOVE. So it seems silly to invest my money into it, if I already know I probably won’t re-read it.

Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

The synopsis of this book sounds very cute. However, I’m certain I’ll never actually buy and read this. I don’t really care.

Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas

I’m still really excited for this! The blurb is so intriguing! I’m hoping the main character is badass. This is definitely staying on my TBR

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi

I still think this will be an amazing and deep novel, yet it doesn’t interest me anymore. I don’t feel the urge to pick it up, so I’m going to let this one pass.

Kissing in America by Margo Rabb

I didn’t remember at all what this book was about. Re-reading it now, I remember a Booktuber raving about it. That, together with the fact that the main character’s name is Eva, is probably the reason I put this on my TBR. I’m not going to read it though.

A Thousand Nights by E. K. Johnston

Okay, I’m not going to lie. This is on my TBR because of the cover. Isn’t it stunning? The synopsis sounds mildly interesting, but I’m not really digging fantasy at the moment. I’m not excited about it. I’ve heard a lot of people say they had problems with the writing style. Reading the synopsis I’m already starting to see why and that puts me off.

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

Yet another Fantasy that doesn’t excite me anymore. I don’t want to pick this up at all.

Of Fire And Stars by Audrey Coulthurst

Lesbian princesses falling in love? Hell YES! I’m a bit scared that everyone says there’s so much about horses in here though. That’s not really my thing. Still, I want to give this a shot.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North

Even though this sounds like a great book, it’s not really my thing anymore. It doesn’t excite me.

This went well! I got rid of 7 books and kept 3. Now, my TBR has 124 books!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for reading! See you next time!

  1. I read passenger and I really wouldn’t recommend it! It was just very slow and boring, so its good you decided to take it off!
