Hey! Today I’m going to wrap up my Contemporary-a-thon. I’m really happy with what I accomplished! I finished four books, started a fifth and completed all the challenges! If you’re interested, you can find my TBR here!
BOOKS READ
George by Alex Gino
I started by reading the last 165 pages of George. It was such a sweet and heart-warming story. I’m glad it exists! I really liked the characters and the plot had a good pace! I would recommend this and I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
Autoboyography by Christina Lauren
This was a lovely story, but a very heart-breaking one at the same time. I liked the characters as they were very realistic. The religion part was done well in my opinion. The book discussed some of the faults of the LDS religion, but did so respectfully. The novel didn’t bash religion and I appreciated that. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
Blue Is The Warmest Color by Julie Maroh
I really liked this graphic novel, but I can’t really explain why. It just hit me. I liked the art style and its use of colour. I would definitely recommend this! I gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan
There are several stories intertwined in the book; some I liked, some I didn’t. I think the narration by the generation of gay men who died of AIDS added a lot to the story. I didn’t know about it going in, but I liked it. It’s part of what made the novel so heart-breaking at times. Overall I’m happy I’ve read this and I gave it 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars.
Odette Toulemonde et autres histoires by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt
Lastly I also started this book of short stories. It’s required reading for me and I only got 14 pages into it. Nonetheless, I’m counting it as it takes a lot more effort for me to read in French.

How was your Contemporary-a-thon? Have you read any of these books? Tell me what you think!
Thanks for reading! See you next time!
Love,
I unfortunately was unsuccessful in the contemporary-a-thon because it ended up being a really busy week for me. I only got through 2 books (3 challenges) but I have made my piece with it. Congrats on completing it!

Oh well, that does happen sometimes… It’s not the most fun thing in the world though, is it? Thanks!

Well done! I didn’t participate in this challenge, but it looks like you were able to finish some great books! I’ve been meaning to read Two Boys Kissing — I hope to get to that soon. Happy reading!
