Bout of Books 20 // Day 1 & 2 Update

So far I’ve been really enjoying this readathon! I’m not putting too much pressure on myself and it’s really working out for me so far!

18718848Day 1

On the first day I read until page 228 of Mosquitoland by David Arnold. I really enjoyed it, although I had a slight problem with the main character. I often didn’t agree with her actions. Still, it’s a book by David Arnold so I loved it. The writing style, the unique characters, always being pleasantly surprised, the diversity in ways I don’t expect but always love,…

Day 2

30145666On Tuesday I finished Mosquitoland. I ended up giving it four out of five stars. I also read until page 100 of The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan, the second book in the Trials of Apollo. As with any Rick Riordan book I’m highly enjoying it. It’s very funny and adventurous. I do still like the Heroes of Olympus series better. I’m a bit annoyed by Apollo at times. He’s very vain and he thinks he’s better than everyone. That’s very logical for his character, him being an ex-god and all, but that doesn’t make it less annoying.

That’s all I’ve read in the past two days! I’ll update you further when I read some more. See you next time!

  1. Oooh I haven’t heard of Mosquitoland before, but I really want to check it out!! I read the Hidden Oracle, and though I liked it, Apollo did annoy me a little bit too. I don’t think we’re ever going to get the amazingness of the original PJ books back, or even The Heroes of Olympus (which were amazing as well).
